Day 1

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Equator Stop & Evening Game Drive

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. After a short safari briefing, you’ll set off on a scenic drive westward toward Lake Mburo National Park, a journey of approximately 3 to 4 hours.

En Route: Uganda Equator Experience

Along the way, you’ll stop at the famous Uganda Equator Line in Kayabwe. Here, you can take photos at the iconic landmark, browse local craft shops, and even witness a simple demonstration showing how water behaves differently across the hemispheres.

Continue your drive through the lush countryside, passing small towns like Masaka and rolling landscapes dotted with farms and grazing cattle.

Afternoon: Arrival & Evening Game Drive

Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and check-in. After some relaxation, head out for an evening game drive, one of the best times to experience the park’s wildlife.

As the golden light settles over the savannah, you may encounter zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, bushbucks, and warthogs grazing peacefully. Lake Mburo is one of the few places in Uganda where you can see large herds of impalas and zebras together, creating classic African safari scenes.

Day 2

Morning Game Drive & Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo

Wake up early and enjoy a cup of coffee before heading out for a sunrise game drive, when wildlife is most active.

Morning: Game Drive Experience

Explore the rolling hills, acacia woodlands, and open grasslands of Lake Mburo National Park. This park is particularly known for species not commonly seen elsewhere in Uganda, including large populations of impalas and elands.

Keep your eyes open for topis, waterbucks, bush pigs, duikers, and even elusive predators like leopards. The park is also rich in birdlife, making it a great destination for birdwatchers.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and enjoy some leisure time before lunch.

Afternoon: Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo

In the afternoon, head to the shores of Lake Mburo for a relaxing boat safari, offering a completely different perspective of the park.

As you glide across the calm waters, you’ll encounter hippos wallowing, Nile crocodiles basking, and a wide variety of water birds including African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, and cormorants. The peaceful setting makes this one of the most relaxing yet rewarding wildlife experiences in the park.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Walking Safari & Return to Kampala/Entebbe

Begin your final day with one of the most unique safari experiences in Uganda—a guided walking safari inside Lake Mburo National Park.

Morning: Walking Safari Experience

Accompanied by an armed ranger, you’ll explore the park on foot, offering a more intimate and immersive wildlife encounter. Walking through the bush allows you to appreciate the finer details of the ecosystem—animal tracks, plants, and smaller wildlife often missed on game drives.

You may come across zebras, giraffes, impalas, and antelopes at a safe distance, while also learning about the park’s ecology and conservation efforts. This experience brings you closer to nature in a way that is both thrilling and educational.

After the walk, return to your lodge for breakfast and check-out.

Return Journey

Begin your drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a lunch stop along the way. Enjoy the scenic countryside one last time before arriving in the late afternoon.

Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of your 3 day Lake Mburo safari in Uganda.
