Tour Plan

Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Elephants, Baobabs & River Ecosystems

Your Tanzania safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a short briefing from your professional driver-guide. You’ll then set off on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately 2–3 hours away.

As you leave Arusha behind, the landscape gradually transitions into open plains and rural countryside, dotted with Maasai villages and grazing cattle. Upon entering Tarangire, your first game drive begins immediately.

Tarangire is renowned for its impressive elephant populations and towering baobab trees, which dominate the landscape and create a distinctly African backdrop. The Tarangire River, especially during the dry season, attracts large numbers of wildlife, making it one of the best places for close-up animal sightings.

During your full-day game drive, expect to encounter elephants in large family groups, giraffes browsing acacia trees, zebras and wildebeests grazing across the plains, and buffaloes moving in herds. Predators such as lions—and occasionally leopards—may also be spotted, particularly near water sources.

Birdlife is abundant here, with over 300 recorded species, offering excellent opportunities for birdwatching enthusiasts.

Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park before continuing your exploration in the afternoon. As the day comes to a close, exit the park and transfer to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

⏱ Drive Time: Approx. 2–3 hours
🏨 Accommodation: Tarangire Sopa Lodge
🍽 Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Day 2

Tarangire to Serengeti National Park – Journey into the Endless Plains

After an early breakfast, depart Tarangire and begin your journey toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park (approximately 5–6 hours). This drive is long but incredibly rewarding, taking you through diverse landscapes, including the Ngorongoro highlands and the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Along the way, you may choose to stop at Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world, where early human fossils were discovered.

As you approach the Serengeti, the scenery opens dramatically into vast, rolling plains that stretch as far as the eye can see—this is the iconic African wilderness you’ve been imagining.

Upon entering the park, your safari experience continues with an afternoon game drive en route to your lodge. The Serengeti is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, as well as predators such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and leopards.

Depending on the time of year, you may encounter part of the Great Wildebeest Migration, where thousands of animals move across the plains in search of fresh grazing—an unforgettable natural spectacle.

Arrive at your lodge in the evening, where you’ll enjoy dinner and relax under the vast African sky.

Day 3

Serengeti Morning Safari & Transfer to Ngorongoro Highlands

Start your day early with a sunrise game drive in the Serengeti, one of the best times to witness wildlife activity. The cooler morning hours often bring predators into action, offering excellent chances to see lions on the hunt, cheetahs scanning the plains, or leopards retreating to the trees after a night of activity.

After the game drive, return to your lodge for breakfast before beginning your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approximately 3.5–4 hours). This transfer is not just a drive—it’s a continuation of your safari, with wildlife sightings possible along the way.

You have the option to enrich your journey with cultural or historical experiences, including:

• A visit to a Maasai village to learn about traditional nomadic life

• A stop at Olduvai Gorge for deeper insight into human history

As you ascend toward the Ngorongoro Crater rim, the landscape changes into lush highlands with cooler temperatures and breathtaking views.

Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon or early evening and take time to relax while enjoying panoramic views over the crater—an incredible preview of the next day’s adventure.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater Safari & Return to Arusha – Big Five Finale

After an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day wildlife safari in one of Africa’s most unique ecosystems.

Often referred to as the “Garden of Eden,” the crater is home to an extraordinary density of wildlife within its enclosed caldera. This makes it one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five in a single day.

During your game drive, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, and if you’re fortunate, the rare black rhino. Other wildlife includes zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, hippos, and a variety of bird species around Lake Magadi, where flamingos are often seen.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild, before continuing your exploration of the crater floor.

In the afternoon, ascend back to the rim and begin your return journey to Arusha (approximately 4–5 hours). Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward travel.
