Upon arrival, embark on a full-day game drive, exploring the park’s diverse habitats—from open savannahs to riverine woodlands. The Tarangire River attracts wildlife year-round, especially during the dry season when animals gather to drink.

Expect to see large elephant herds, often moving gracefully across the plains, as well as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and antelope species. Predators such as lions and leopards may also be spotted resting or hunting.

Your guide will take you through prime wildlife areas, stopping for photography and interpretation of animal behavior.

You’ll explore different sections of the park, including swampy areas where wildlife congregates. These wetlands often attract buffaloes, elephants, and a variety of bird species.

Tarangire is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 500 recorded species. Your guide will help you identify both common and rare birds while navigating through varied terrain.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in a scenic location within the park, allowing you to stay immersed in the wilderness throughout the day.

In the afternoon, continue your game drive, possibly encountering cheetahs or lions in action before returning to your lodge for dinner.

Upon entering the park, you’ll notice a dramatic shift in scenery. Enjoy a game drive through forested areas where troops of baboons and blue monkeys are often seen.

Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, a rare behavior unique to this region. You may also see elephants moving through the forest, as well as flamingos and other water birds along the lake.

In the afternoon, enjoy optional activities such as a short nature walk or cultural visit to a Maasai community, where you’ll learn about traditional lifestyles and customs.

End the day with a sunset game drive before heading to your lodge.

As you descend into the Serengeti, the terrain opens into vast plains stretching endlessly into the horizon. Wildlife sightings begin immediately, with herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles grazing across the landscape.

Day 6

Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti – Following the Great Migration

Begin your day with an early morning wildlife safari in the central region of Serengeti National Park, one of the best areas in Africa for spotting predators. As the sun rises over the plains, you may witness lions returning from a night hunt, cheetahs scanning the horizon, or leopards resting in acacia trees. This is a magical time in the bush, when the air is cool and wildlife activity is at its peak.

After breakfast, begin your journey north toward the legendary Mara River region, a drive that typically takes 4 to 5 hours. This is far from a simple transfer—it's a continuous game drive, with frequent stops as wildlife appears along the way. The landscape gradually shifts from open plains to rolling hills and riverine vegetation, offering new habitats and species to discover.

As you approach the northern Serengeti, the excitement builds. This region is the heart of the Great Wildebeest Migration, particularly between July and October. You may encounter vast herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles moving in search of fresh grazing, often trailed by predators such as lions and hyenas.

Arrive at your tented camp in the late afternoon, where you can unwind and soak in the wilderness atmosphere. As evening falls, enjoy dinner under the vast African sky, with the distant sounds of wildlife echoing through the plains.

Day 7

Northern Serengeti – Full-Day Great Migration Safari

Today is dedicated to a full-day Serengeti wildlife safari in the Mara River area—one of the most thrilling and unpredictable wildlife destinations in Africa.

After an early breakfast, head out with packed lunch boxes for an extended day in the field. Your guide will track the movement of the migration herds, using experience and local knowledge to position you in the best locations for sightings.

The Mara River is the focal point of today’s adventure. Here, thousands of wildebeests and zebras gather at the riverbanks, often hesitating before making the dramatic crossing. If conditions are right, you may witness one of nature’s most powerful spectacles—animals plunging into the river while crocodiles lie in wait and predators linger nearby.

Even outside of river crossings, the northern Serengeti offers exceptional wildlife viewing. You may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and an abundance of predators following the herds.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic bush setting, allowing you to remain immersed in the experience without returning to camp. In the afternoon, continue exploring different sections of the park, each offering unique perspectives and wildlife encounters.

Return to camp in the evening for a well-earned dinner and relaxation, sharing stories of the day’s sightings around the campfire.

Day 8

Serengeti to Ngorongoro – Scenic Transfer Through Wildlife Landscapes

After a relaxed breakfast and a final morning game drive in the northern Serengeti, begin your journey south toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This scenic drive (approximately 4–5 hours) takes you through varied landscapes, offering additional opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way.

En route, you may stop at the famous Retima Hippo Pool, where large pods of hippos can be observed resting in the water. Alternatively, you can visit Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world, often referred to as the “Cradle of Mankind.”

For a cultural experience, an optional visit to a Maasai village offers insight into traditional life, including local customs, pastoral practices, and vibrant dances.

As you approach the Ngorongoro Crater rim, the landscape becomes cooler and greener. Arrive in the late afternoon and take in the breathtaking panoramic views over the vast caldera below—an unforgettable sight.

Enjoy dinner at your lodge, perched on the crater rim, surrounded by misty highland scenery.

Day 9

Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Big Five Wildlife Experience

Wake up early for one of the highlights of your safari—a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, often described as one of the best wildlife destinations in Africa.

After breakfast, descend approximately 600 meters into the crater floor, where a unique enclosed ecosystem supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. This natural amphitheater is home to over 25,000 animals, making it one of the best places to spot the Big Five in a single day.

As you explore the crater, expect to see lions resting on the plains, elephants moving through the forested areas, large herds of buffaloes, and if you’re fortunate, the rare and endangered black rhino.

You’ll also visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake that attracts flamingos and other water birds, adding vibrant color to the landscape.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site, often near a hippo pool, where you can relax while surrounded by wildlife and stunning scenery.

In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and begin your drive back to Arusha (approximately 4–5 hours), reflecting on the incredible experiences of your safari.
