Tour Plan
Fly to Bwindi – Scenic Aerial Transfer & Lodge Arrival
Your journey begins with an early morning transfer to Entebbe International Airport for a scheduled domestic flight with Aerolink Uganda Limited. The flight to Kisoro or Kihihi airstrip takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours and offers breathtaking views of Uganda’s western region—lush hills, crater lakes, and forested landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see.
Upon arrival at the airstrip, your professional guide will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you by road to your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive, typically 1 to 2 hours depending on the sector, takes you through scenic highland terrain with beautiful views of local villages and terraced hillsides.
After check-in, take time to relax and settle into your forest lodge. Surrounded by nature, this is the perfect setting to unwind and prepare for the highlight of your safari. Enjoy a freshly prepared dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.
Gorilla Trekking Experience & Optional Batwa Cultural Visit
Today is dedicated to the highlight of your safari—gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a detailed briefing by rangers from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. During this session, you will learn about gorilla trekking guidelines and safety, before being placed in a small group of up to eight trekkers and assigned a habituated gorilla family to track.
Your trek then begins through the dense rainforest, lasting anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. As you hike, your guide will share insights about the forest, pointing out unique plant species, birds, and other primates along the way. The terrain can be steep and sometimes muddy, but the anticipation and scenery make the journey truly worthwhile.
Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watching them feed, groom, and interact at close range is a powerful and unforgettable experience.
After the trek, return to the park headquarters to receive your trekking certificate, then drive back to your lodge for a well-earned rest and lunch. In the afternoon or evening, you may choose to visit the Batwa community, an optional cultural experience that offers insight into the traditions and forest lifestyle of one of Uganda’s oldest indigenous groups.
Return Flight to Entebbe – Departure
After a relaxed breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kisoro or Kihihi airstrip for your scheduled return flight to Entebbe. The flight again offers scenic aerial views and takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to your hotel or directly to Entebbe International Airport for your onward international flight. Depending on your departure schedule, additional arrangements such as a day room or lunch can be organized.
As your safari concludes, you leave with unforgettable memories of gorilla trekking in Uganda, meaningful cultural encounters, and the natural beauty of one of Africa’s most remarkable destinations.
